Cave do Sol is the blossoming of a dream that has been with the Passarin family since 1927.
The story of the Passarin family in Brazil began in 1888, when Giuseppe left the Veneto region in Italy, bound for Brazil. He carried with him only his faith, his hope, and the courage required to build a life in a new world. Wine—which fueled the family’s dreams—was first crafted in a room within the home of the eldest son, Guido Passarin, who was born in Brazil. This saga continues into 2020 with his grandson, Arnaldo Passarin, who shares with all those who appreciate the world of wine a legacy that blends art, history, and, of course, wine. Cave do Sol is the newest wine tourism destination in the Vale dos Vinhedos.
Designed to welcome tourists, the Cave do Sol winery is nestled in the heart of the Vale dos Vinhedos (at km 20.7 of the RS-444 highway), spanning an area of 36,600 square meters. The facility features 5,125 square meters of built space—2,367 of which are dedicated to wine tourism—spread across three floors and designed entirely with accessibility in mind. The setting invites visitors to immerse themselves in a rich collection of artifacts—many of museum quality—that not only preserve the history of the family and the Brazilian wine industry but also form part of artworks created by various artists, thereby showcasing local talent. It is a journey through time—an experience that transcends the imagination.
This new addition brings a fresh experience to the Vale dos Vinhedos, catering both to those looking for a quick visit and to those who prefer to fully immerse themselves in the world of wine.
The product portfolio consists of 28 labels, including the Cave do Sol Reserva and Cave do Sol Varietals lines, as well as juices.
Cave do Sol’s sparkling wines, still wines, and pure grape juice are crafted from grapes grown in the Serra Gaúcha, Campanha Gaúcha, and Serra do Sudeste regions, resulting in a portfolio rich in diverse terroirs that caters to a wide range of styles.
